A cím a következő lesz: A dekódolt Jézus: A Da Vinci Kód katolikus perspektívája és 2006 Áprilisában jelenik meg, direkt a DVK film előtt. A készítők azt igérik, hogy ebben minden benne lesz, amit az egyház gondol a DVK-ról.

Manis Calco szerint, aki kommunikációs igazgatója az Amerikai Katolikus Püspöki Konferenciának: "Úgy érezzük, hogy a könyvben Jézus életét Dan Brown túl elméleti síkon mutatja csak be. Ez a film azért is fontos, mert egy esélyt ad nekünk is arra, hogy továbbadjuk a tanításunkat." 

A katolikus egyház még sosem reagált a DVK-ra ennyire hivatalosan, mint most majd ezzel a filmmel. Három dologra fognak az ő szemszögükből választ adni: Jézus és Mária Magdolna kapcsolata, a nők szerepe az időkben és a hiteles Biblia.

A forgatások  novembertől Amerikában, Olaszországban, Jeruzsálemben, Görögországban és Törökországban folynak majd. Egy francia apáca, Judith Zielinski szintén segít a project elkészítésében.

"Jesus De-coded: Catholic Perspective on the 'Da Vinci Code,' " scheduled to air nationally in April 2006 on NBC -- just before release of the Ron Howard-directed studio film starring Tom Hanks -- will look at the Roman Catholic Church's position on issues raised in the novel.

"We feel sometimes that the material (in the book) is presented in a way that is speculative about the life of Jesus," says Manis Calco, director of communications for the USCCB in Washington, DC. "This certainly is a chance for us to put forth our own teachings." "The church has never responded to 'The Da Vinci Code' before," says NewGroup partner Christopher Salvador, who will direct the documentary. "So this is really the official response." "Jesus De-coded" will focus on the Catholic Church's position on three issues raised in Brown's novel: the relationship between Jesus and Mary Magdalene, the development of the canon of the Scriptures, and the role of women within the early church.

NewGroup already has begun scouting locations for the documentary in the United States, Italy, Greece, Turkey and the Holy Land -- particularly the Galilee region and Jerusalem.

They plan to start shooting in November. Sister Judith Zielinski, a Franciscan nun who serves as director of NewGroup's faith and values division, is both the writer and producer of the project.
